UPDATE
The alleged memoir Kim’s Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side… was released this month.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated following a statement released from Diddy and Kim Porter’s children on Sept. 25 saying “claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue.”
A purported Kim Porter memoir, comprised of reported diary entries from the late ex of Sean “Diddy” Combs, arrived earlier this month ahead of Combs’ arrest. Now Porter’s four children — Quincy Brown, Christian “King” Combs and Jessie and D’Lila Combs — have come out to say the book did not come from their late mom.
Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side… was released on Sept. 6, around a week before Combs was indicted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. According to Daily Mail, the 60-page book was published by Chris Todd, a Los Angeles producer who alleged that the book contains details Porter saved on a flash drive and gave to friends prior to her sudden death almost six years ago. Todd released the unauthorized memoir under the name “Jamal T. Millwood” and he’s listed as co-writer along with Porter. The book had already been an Amazon bestseller in the category of Western U.S. Biographies.
The statement comes from Porter’s three children with Diddy, 26-year-old Christian “King” Combs and 17-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila Combs, as well as Quincy Brown, Porter’s son with Al B. Sure who Diddy helped raise.

We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out.
Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Additionally, please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.
Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.
We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives. Our mother should be remembered for the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.
We ask that everyone please respect our mother, Kim Porter, and hold her legacy in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It’s what she deserves.
We love you and miss you Mommy.

Federal authorities arrested Combs in New York City on Monday, Sept. 16. The next day, authorities released a 14-page indictment stating in part, “For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.”
The 54-year-old rap mogul, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, was twice denied bail and currently remains at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His release date is listed as unknown.
Porter died from pneumonia in November 2018.
